Fabre Montmayou Grand Vin 2018 93 points
“The 2018 Grand Vin is a blend of malbec with 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot from VIstalba, Luján de Cuyo and was aged for 16 months in foudres. An intense purple in the glass, the aromas feature candied plum with white pepper, hint of blackberry and notes from the aging process as well as subtle whiffs of fruit. Concentrated in the mouth, it offers good body while the freshness is wrapped in the palate where tannins provide depth and structure. Time in the bottle will enhance the freshness and subtlety.”
Fabre Montmayou Gran Reserva Malbec 2019 91 points
“The 2019 Malbec Fabre Montmayou Gran Reserva from Vistalba, Luján de Cuyo was partially aged in foudres. A dark, dense purple in color, the young, substantial nose present aromas of plum and cherry with hints of violet against a taut, concentrated, oaky backdrop. Juicy in the mouth with broad, firm tannins that lend structure and ruggedness to the flow, a couple of years in the bottle will make it more easy going.”
