Fabre Montmayou Grand Vin 2018                                                94 Points
Inky and intense, this is a classy blend of Malbec with 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot that is still in its infancy. Concentrated,  firm and profound, with lots of spicy oak, damson and blackberry fruit, sinewy, grippy tannins and old vine density and focus. One to tuck away for a few years. 2023-33

Fabre Montmayou Cabernet Franc Reserva 2019                       93 Points
There’s Agrelo and Agrelo, and this superb Cabernet Franc comes from the higher and generally better part of the sub-region at an altitude of 1,100 metres. Leafy,  oral and intense, with good texture and weight, graphite and basil undertones and racy black fruit freshness complemented by oak. 2022-26

Fabre Montmayou Malbec Gran Reserva 2018                            93 Points
A classic example of the powerful 2018 vintage, this Luján de Cuyo Malbec from Vistalba will reward patience. Rich and intense, it has depth, intensity and layered tannins, with mocha oak,  g, blood orange and blueberry fruit and a backbone of acidity. 2023-30

Fabre Montmayou Merlot Gran Reserva 2018                             92 Points
Not many people in Argentina make great Merlot, so trust someone from Bordeaux, the grape’s home from home, to get it right. Subtle, elegant and sweetly oaked, this Río Negro red has good underlying structure and grip, red berry and tobacco leaf notes and supporting acidity. 2022-28

Fabre Montmayou Barrel Selection Malbec 2019                       91 Points
This impressive Patagonian Malbec comes from the highly regarded sub-zone of Allen and shows the freshness, poise and herbal top notes of good Río Negro reds, with understated wood, red cherry and bramble fruit and  ne-boned tannins. 2022-26

Fabre Montmayou Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva 2019             91 Points
Perdriel is widely regarded as one of the best places in Argentina to grow Cabernet Sauvignon, which is why Frenchman Hervé Joyaux Fabre has vineyards there. Violet and blackcurrant leaf aromas lead you into a palate that’s textured, stony, deftly oaked and refreshing for a wine with 14% alcohol. 2022-27

Fabre Montmayou Malbec Reserva 2019                                       91 Points
Very few bodegas can compete with the quality of the Fabre Malbecs at this price. Marrying fruit from Vistalba and Las Compuertas, it’s an intense so-called Primera Zona wine with aniseed and vanilla spice perfume, glossy, textured  fig and blackberry fruit and the supple tannins that are part of the bodega’s style. 2021-26
